Is Elemis skincare good? Let’s talk about it! I never thought I’d have such strong opinions about luxury skincare, haha, but here we are!
If you’re anything like me, you pay attention to your coins and try to make educated decisions when making purchasing decisions. I have been a fan of and have been using some of the Elemis products for years, so I knew it was time to finally sit down and write out a full Elemis skincare review.
This post is all about an Elemis skincare review.
Is Elemis Skincare Good?
The short answer, yes! As someone who uses a mix of both drugstore and high-end products in my makeup and skincare routines, I have found a few Elemis skincare products that are worth the splurge and that I’ve repurchased more than once.
With that being said, “good” is so subjective. Everyone’s skin has different needs and is so unique from person to person, so just because a product works for my skin doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for yours, but it does mean it may be worth a try.
For context, I have oily to oily combination skin. It’s aggressively oily in most places but can have seasons of dryness on my nose and around my eyebrows. Super fun, I know! I also have more texture and deeper pores on my nose and the tops of my cheeks. Now that we’ve got all the background information out of the way, let’s get into the best Elemis products!
Best Elemis Products
Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
Worth The Splurge? Yes!
If there is one product that you hear me loud and clear about, let it be the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm! I have been using this product for years and it has made THE BIGGEST difference in my oily skin! We all know by now, that even oily skin needs moisture because if it’s not properly hydrated, it will overproduce oils.
This cleansing balm not only melts every bit of my makeup off with ease, but it leaves my skin feeling moisturized without the feeling of being weighed down. It can be used as a makeup remover, cleanser, and even a hydrating face mask for an extra boost. I don’t know about y’all, but I love a good multi-use product, especially when it’s one I’m investing a little more money in!
Superfood Facial Oil
Worth The Splurge? Yes!
It wouldn’t be a true Elemis skincare review if I didn’t mention the Superfood Facial Oil aka one of their best sellers! Once again, this product has been absolute magic for my oily skin. I struggled to find an oil that I felt actually melted into my skin as opposed to just sitting on top of it. Once I gave this one a go, I was hooked!
It’s created with superfood ingredients from greens like broccoli and rosehip to help minimize the look of dullness and bring out a nongreasy, lightweight glow. I will say that this one has an interesting scent to it. I would describe it almost as the scent that lingers inside of a spa. It’s nothing that bothers me, but if you wanted something unscented this might not be the product for you.
Resurfacing facial pads
Worth The Splurge? No.
Now, this is just my honest opinion, but I don’t think these are necessarily worth the splurge. Are they good and do their job? Yes. However, I think the Hero Lightning Swipe pads do a very comparable job for a fraction of the price. I’ve repurchased them several times and have seen a noticeable difference in my dark spots and they don’t dry my skin out, which is something to be cautious of when using any sort of exfoliating product.
Pro-Collagen Marine cream SPF 30
Worth The Splurge? Maybe.
Is Elemis skincare good? The pro-collagen marine cream definitely makes you think about it. This cult favorite is an anti-wrinkle cream, moisturizer, and SPF all in one. Again, claps for a multi-use product!! The reason why I’ve marked this Elemis skincare product as a maybe is because I don’t necessarily use it as directed.
This is a daily-use product, but I found it to be just a little too much for my oily skin, so I transitioned to using it only 2-3 times per week and like that performance much better! It does have a lighter formula, but I just didn’t feel that it melted into my skin the way the oil does when I use it daily.
With that being said, I get a lot more use out of this product, so the cost makes a little more sense to me, but if you were using it daily, it might be a little too much of a splurge. Again, that’s super subjective, but Elemis is sold at Amazon, Sephora, and Ulta, so returns are a breeze if you want to give the product a try and end up not loving it.
Elemis Skincare Review
Overall, I find Elemis skincare to be well worth the splurge! If you find a product that’s the perfect fit for your skin, it will always be worth investing in. For me, the Pro-Collagen cleansing balm is THE BEST product they offer and I haven’t found another cleansing balm that even comes close to the formula. If you’re interested in trying any of the Elemis products, Ulta has a very gracious 90-day return policy for easy testing of new products!
Best Affordable Skincare Brands
If you find Elemis skincare to be out of your price range (totally understandable!), here are a few of my favorite and best affordable skincare brands that have also worked for my oily skin.
Cetaphil
We’ve all heard of the classic brand Cetaphil and that’s for a good reason! Their products are affordable, accessible, and effective. I’ve used and loved their daily facial cleanser!
Hero cosmetics
Hero is well known for their pimple patches, which are in fact, very effective. But don’t miss out on all of the other products they have to offer. I mentioned them previously, but their Lightning Swipe pads have been a game-changer for my skin!
Naturium
While Naturium is primarily a skincare brand, they have branched out into body care. The Glow Getter Multi-Oil Hydrating Body Wash is a recent addition to my shower routine and is worth every single penny! It is a little on the pricier side for a body wash, but a little goes a long way.
So, the answer to the million-dollar question is yes. Elemis skincare is well worth the splurge and has taken my skincare routine to the next level! You can shop the entire collection below.
