It used to be nearly impossible to buy trendy and well-fitting plus size clothing. Brands definitely still have a long way to go, but we do have a lot more options to shop from than we used to. So, I put together The Ultimate Plus Size Shopping Guide. This is a guide filled with over eighty different plus size retailers organized in any easy to shop way. Now, this guide has a ton of plus size shopping resources in it, but I’m sharing my top five best places to buy plus size clothing in this post.
Boohoo
In my opinion, Boohoo is very underrated! They come through with all of the deals! You pretty much have to beg them to pay full price. Their site is always running a 40%-60% off sale. Every time I shop at Boohoo I love them more because they are definitely taking cues from their audience and working on sizing and quality. Some of my absolute favorite dresses of all time are from Boohoo! Boohoo is one of the best places to buy plus size clothing because they are affordable and they keep up with the trends, so you can pretty much always find the latest styles in plus sizes there. Boohoo is a UK based retailer, but I’ve never had any problems with shipping or returns. As a matter of fact, their shipping is pretty fast compared to even US based retailers. Here is a video of a Boohoo try on haul, so that you can see what some of the styles look like on.
American Eagle
For the longest time I didn’t think that I could shop at American Eagle, but then I realized that their denim goes up to plus sizes. American Eagle jeans are my absolute favorite!! Nothing compares. American Eagle also has a curvy line in their jeans. As an apple shape, my body fits better into their regular sizing, but if you have a smaller waist and bigger hips you would love their curvy line! American Eagle has about a million different variations of their jeans. Okay, that was an exaggeration, but they probably do have nearly one hundred. They have a variation of stretch, distressing, and inseams, so there is something for everyone! Here is a video where I try on a ton of different sizes and styles and give my overall review.
Torrid
Torrid has been there for us plus size gals from day one, so shout out to them for always coming through! Torrid is one of the best places to buy plus size clothing because they are very much a one stop shop. They carry bras, swimsuits, workwear, wide width shoes, tops, jeans, wide belts, and pretty much anything else you can think of! They also have my absolute favorite graphic tees. I don’t know what kind of God given cloth they are cut from, but man do they fit perfectly!! Some people can definitely see Torrid as a less affordable place to shop and while they are a bit more expensive, most of their stuff has great quality and they do often run sales. Torrid also has a leg up because they are a plus size retailer and not a retailer that carries plus sizes. There is a difference. Plus size retailers do a much better job at creating clothing to fit a plus size body shape. Here is one of my most recent Torrid try on hauls if you’re interested in the sizing.
Cato Fashions
Cato Fashions is another retailer that I feel is very underrated! They have also been in the game for awhile and provide some great plus size options for super affordable prices. I also believe that Cato Fashions is one of the most easily accessible plus size retailers. In fact, every place I have ever lived has had a Cato Fashions, which says a lot since I have often lived in the middle of no where. One of the things that Cato Fashions does best is their workwear. They also have wide calf shoes and wide calf boots. Here is the latest try on haul I filmed from Cato Fashions for a sizing reference.
Target
I’m sure that you guys knew this one was coming at some point, right? I love Target just as much as the next girl because they have some great affordable plus size clothing. The Universal Thread brand denim shorts from Target have been my favorite for over a year now and they have stood the test of time. Their Ava + Viv brand also has some of the best plus size basics. I have also seen Target’s plus size workwear elevate over the years and have come to love it!
These are just five of the best places to buy plus size clothing, but there are so many more featured in The Ultimate Plus Size Shopping Guide. Don’t forget to check it out! Here is the video where I went into depth about these retailers if you’re more into YouTube!
